Classes have been suspended on Wednesday in several Metro Manila cities as early as 6 a.m. due to heavy downpour brought by typhoon-enhanced southwest monsoon.
Classes in all levels were suspended in Manila, Quezon City, Mandaluyong City, Pateros City, Caloocan City, Pasig City, Makati City, Paranaque City and Valenzuela.
Meanwhile, classes from pres-school to high school were were suspended in Caloocan City and Muntinlupa City (afternoon classes).
Local authorities in Limay, Bataan have also announced the suspension of classes in all levels while classes from preschool to high school were suspended in Dagupan City, Pangasinan.
The local governments of the said areas have decided to suspend classes due to inclement weather.
The Department of Education had earlier said Tuesday that local government units and school authorities have the discretion to suspend classes because they are in a better position to assess their respective areas of concern.
