URCC holds 2014 final event on October 23 at MOA


THE Universal Reality Combat Championship (URCC), the longest running mixed martial arts promotion in Asia, will be holding its final event for the year 2014 – The URCC 25 Takeover on October 23 at the Mall of Asia Arena.

According to event organizer Alvin Aguilar, also the Wrestling Federation of the Philippines president, the fight night will banner muay thai standout Onyok Transamonte of Submission Sport going up against Maic Gym’s Andrew Benibe for the vacant URCC bantamweight belt.

A member of the Philippine Volcanos rugby team Nickson Kole, a native of Papua New Guinea, will face Chris Hoffman of Deftacs in the match card of the event supported by Tribal, BT Auto Sport Corp., Chevrolet Makati, Hyundai Paranaque West, Shacman, Build Your Dreams, Colt 45, Anzahl, Solar Transport and Automotive Resources Corp., WIT Auto Group and sanctioned by the Games and Amusement Board.

Japan’s ‘Death from Tokyo’ Hideo Morikawa takes on Ryan Jakiri of Submission Sport. Most of Hideo’s victories were won by knockouts.

Knockout King Caloy Baduria of Elorde will battle Mark Palomar of Lomibao Hyper MMA.

The event will also be the last hurrah for the legendary mixed martial artist Angelito Manguray. He started his professional career at 42 and was even able to win a URCC belt. He will be fighting Miguel Mosquera of Submission Sport.

Crowd favorite Alvin Ramirez of Yaw-Yan Buhawi will meet Davao’s Jessie Paul del Valle of Beefit Python. Tickets are available at SM Tickets.
