THE death toll from Tropical Depression “Urduja” that pummeled central Philippines over the weekend rose to 46, the Philippine National Police said on Tuesday, as hopes faded for at least 45 other people reported missing after massive landslides.

Of the fatalities, 33 were in the island province of Biliran, six in Leyte, two in Samar, three in Eastern Samar and two in Ormoc City.
