THE HAGUE: United States (US) President Barack Obama and top economic powers on Monday (Tuesday in Manila) cancelled an upcoming Group of Eight (G8) summit in Russia, seeking to deepen Moscow’s isolation over its intervention in the Ukraine crisis.
In Washington, The US Senate easily advanced a Ukraine aid package also on Monday that includes sanctions on Russia, but its controversial inclusion of International Monetary Fund reforms is likely to stall the legislation in the House.
