WASHINGTON, D.C.: United States (US) lawmakers are expected to vote on Wednesday on whether to halt phone and Internet data mining not related to terror suspects, a move opposed by the White House.

The vote comes six weeks after a National Security Agency (NSA) contractor divulged details of programs that collect the phone logs of millions of Americans as well as Internet data from the accounts of foreign targets.
