US legend Hart, career Slam winner, dead at 89


NEWPORT, US: Doris Hart, a 1950s tennis star who became the second woman to complete a career Grand Slam, has died at age 89, the International Tennis Hall of Fame announced on Saturday (Sunday in Manila). Hart, rated the world’s top women’s tennis player in 1951, died at her home in Coral Gables, Florida. She was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1969.
