A US Navy missile destroyer rescued two fishermen at the West Philippine Sea (South China Sea), who were lacking in food supply and whose boat had an engine malfunction, according to the US 7th fleet in a statement on Thursday.

The Arleigh Burke-class guided missile destroyer USS Mustin (DDG 89) was conducting a routine patrol on Tuesday within the disputed West Philippine Sea when the ship’s watch standers saw a fishing vessel whose passengers were “frantically waving.”
