UNITED NATIONS, United States: US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson has told rights groups that the United States will quit the UN Human Rights Council unless it undergoes “considerable reform,” according to a letter obtained by AFP on Wednesday.

The United States was elected to the 47-member council, the UN’s main body for promoting and protecting human rights worldwide, for a three-year term ending in 2019.
