The United States Chess Federation (USCF) has lined up five more tournaments for Filipino Grandmaster (GM) Wesley So including the Bunratty Chess Festival scheduled on February 20 to 22 in County Clare, Ireland.
The tournament will feature 11 invited masters playing in a six-round event. Besides So, the other players seeing action in the three-day meet are GMs Gawain Jones, Nigel Short, Nick Pert, Peter Wells, Mark Hebden, Alex Baburin and David Norwood, and International Masters Richard Bates, Mark Heindenfeld and Thomas Rendle.
After the Ireland meet, So will be competing in the 2015 French League Team Tournament on May 30 to June 9 in France then a four-game classical match with David Navaraon June 12 to 16 in Prague, Czech Republic.
He will also play in the 2015 Turkish Chess Tournament on August 3 to 15 in Istanbul, Turkey and the prestigious 2015 Millionaire Chess Open on October 8 to 12 in Las Vega Nevada where he will defend his crown.
Earlier, the USCF has already confirmed So’s participation in the US National Chess Championships on March 31 to April 14 in Saint Louis, Missouri and the 2015 World Cup on September 10 to October 4 in Baku, Azerbaijan.
