UNIVERSITY of Santo Tomas (UST) and University of the East (UE) shoot for fourth win against separate opponents today in the University Athletic Association of the Philippines Season 77 men’s basketball at the Araneta Coliseum.
UST battles Adamson University at 2 p.m. while UE faces University of the Philippines (UP) at 4 p.m.
The Growling Tigers, who will rely on Kevin Ferrer, Cameroonian Karim Abdul, Aljon Mariano and Louie Vigil, are aiming to snap a three-game losing skid following their loss to the UE Red Warriors of Derrick Pumaren.
UST and UE are in the fifth to sixth spot with identical 3-4.
But the Falcons, who remain winless in seven games, are expected to come back stronger against the Growling Tigers.
UST defeated Adamson in first round, 60-59.
The Red Warriors, for their part, are expected to shoot down the Fighting Maroons’ high morale.
UP ended its 27-game losing streak last Saturday when it beat Adamson. UP is now holding a 1-6 win-loss record.
UE, on the other hand, stunned UST last Wednesday, 71-62, behind the efforts of Emil Palma and Charles Mammie.
