ILOILO CITY: The city government here will turn over 16 brand-new motorcycles on March 25 to the Iloilo City Police Office (ICPO) to be used for escorting delegates to two ministerial meetings of the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) to be hosted by the city late this year.
City Mayor Jed Patrick Mabilog said the meeting on September 21-25 on small and medium enterprises will be participated in by more than 1,000 delegates from 21 Asian and Pacific countries and the meeting on September 28-October 6 on food security by 800 delegates.
ICPO’s new chief, Senior Supt. Kashmir Disomangcop, was installed last week, replacing Senior Supt. Ruperto Floro, who was transferred to the Philippine National Police regional command.
Mabilog said the APEC national organizing committee will be sending in vehicles for the use of ministers and heads of state participating in the meetings while the city will provide counterpart vehicles and security escorts.
