Vigan City, Ilocos Sur: An administrative aide who reportedly doubles as a ‘shabu’ pusher was arrested by anti-narcotics agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) during a buy-bust operation on Wednesday in Vigan City. Michael Ugales Suyat, who works at the Vigan City government and a resident of Vigan City, Ilocos Sur was caught in Barangay VII after selling three pieces of heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing ‘shabu’ to a PDEA agent who posed as a buyer. Suyat faces a violation of Section 5 (Sale of Dangerous Drugs) and Section 11 (Possession of Dangerous Drugs), Article II of Republic Act 9165, also known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. Also on Wednesday, PDEA agents busted Joel Papa in Barangay Catbangen, San Fernando City, La Union while selling a heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet containing suspected ‘shabu.’ Two more pieces of plastic sachets of ‘shabu’ were confiscated from him when frisked. PDEA said Papa was previously charged for violation of the anti-drug law in 2015, but his case was dismissed.
