The Philippine National Historical Society (PNHS) is calling on participants to the 35th National Conference on National and Local History held from October 23 to 25 at the Romualdo B. Tadena Hall of the University of Northern Philippines in the historic Vigan City, Ilocos Sur.
The event is co-sponsored by the National Commission for Culture and the Arts’ National Committee on Historical Research (NCHR), the Philippine Social Science Council (PSSC), and the National Historical Commission of the Philippines (NHCP).
PNHS conferences and publications have presented researches on mainstream national history and local or regional histories that enrich the understanding of the cultural diversity of the Philippine society. Paper presentations also include studies in related social science disciplines and the humanities. In conjunction with this year’s celebration of the 150th birth anniversary of Apolinario Mabini and the PNHS Conference is in commemoration of his sesquicentennial.
Participants will be provided with a conference kit, which includes a book of abstracts and conference program, abstracts and conference papers in a disk, complimentary PNHS publication, lunch and two snack for the first two days of the conference.
Enrolled undergraduate students and PNHS members will be given discounted rates. Interested parties may download the invitation letter if applying for official travel authority and funding assistance from your school or agency. PNHS will request the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) and the Department of Education (DepEd) memos to allow participants on official time and expense to attend the conference. Pre-registration will begin on October 22 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. on campus.
