Village chief, 3 others fall in Pangasinan drug bust


LINGAYEN, Pangasinan: Two alleged drug pushers in Malasiqui town here, including a barangay chairman tagged by police as No. 2 high value target, and two others were arrested in separate buy-busts in the town of Bolinao and San Carlos City recently. Senior Supt. Ronald Oliver-Lee, Police Provincial Director, identified the suspects as Boyet Garcia Geronimo, incumbent barangay chairman of Potiocan village; Jack Peregrino of Solano, Nueva Vizcaya and presently renting a house in Barangay Loke East; Ronald Aquino-Celeste of Barangay Concordia, Bolinao town and Marlie Cayabyab of Barangay Rizal in San Carlos City. Lee said Geronimo was arrested by Malasqui police after selling a sachet of shabu to a posuer buyer for P500 in a buy bust in Barangay Bolaoit on Monday. Geronimo was named by some surrenderers as their supplier of shabu and marijuana but refused to surrender, even with the prodding of Mayor Noel Anthony Geslani and municipal officials of Malasiqui. Lee said Peregrino is listed as “notorious” pusher in Malasiqui town. Similarly, Bolinao police, led by Chief Insp. Mark Joseph Sibayan, said Celeste was arrested by with a sachet of shabu while Cayabyab, listed No.5 pusher in San Carlos City was arrested after selling four sachets of shabu to a poseur buyer.
