VILLAGE CHIEF ARRESTED FOR ELECTION GUN-BAN

A village chief was arrested on Tuesday morning as police intensifies the implementation of the election gun-ban meant to curb the possible outbreak of violence for the upcoming elections at the end of the month. Reports at the Philippine National Police operations center in Camp Crame identified the village official arrested for gun-ban violations as Benito Reyes, chairman of Barangay Wawa, Lingayen, Pangasinan. The reports said Reyes was arrested by the police after serving a search warrant at his home Tuesday morning and a recovered a caliber 38 revolver, a caliber .22 long rifle and five ammunitions for shotgun.
