• Village chief, PAL busted in CDO

CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY: A search for a suspected Maute fighter in Opol, Misamis Oriental, led to the arrest of a village chief and his companion on Thursday. Enforcers of Martial Law Special Action Group (MLSAG) team, led by police Chief Insp. Ariel Philip Pontillas, were conducting a house-to-house search of an alleged wounded Maute outlaw who reportedly took refuge in Vamenta Subdivision, a predominantly Muslim community in Barra, Opol, Misamis Oriental, when they chanced upon the barangay (village) chairman allegedly sniffing shabu inside a van. Pontillas identified the suspects as Abasa Rasuman, the village chairman of the town of Lumba Bayabao, Lanao del Sur, and Gacuman London. The suspects were caught in the act of having a “pot session” inside a Toyata pick-up owned by Rasuman.
