Village chief, ‘pusher’; slain; 8 others nabbed in Pangasinan


SAN CARLOS CITY, Pangasinan: A village chairman here and another suspect, both listed as Top High Value Target for drug pushing in the province, were killed after they engaged lawmen in a shootout in separate operations on Wednesday. Senior Supt. Ronald Oliver-Lee, police provincial director, identified the slain village official as Lamberto Villa of Barangay Tayambani here, and alleged leader Dawis Drug Group operating in the central part of Pangasinan. Another pusher killed was Balgamil Sison of Barangay Bolaoen in Bugallon town.
Meanwhile, police also arrested eight big-time pushers identified as Julius del Rosario of San Vicente in San Jacinto town; Charlito Villanueva also in San Vicente; Ernesto Nate Jr. of Barangay Bonuan Binloc, Dagupan City; Jesus Macantantan of Barangay Calvo, Mangatarem; David Undayag, retired Philippine Army soldier of Barangay Poblacion D, Tayug town; Benjamin Gatinga of Barangay Malabago, Mangaldan town; and Porferio Macatiag of Barangay Poblacion East, Sula town. Police seized various amount of shabu and drug paraphernalia from the suspects.
