Village councilman, 24 ‘pushers’ fall in Pangasinan


LINGAYEN, Pangasinan: A barangay (village) councilman, a security guard and a minor were among the 24 alleged drug pushers arrested in 24 hours of anti-drug operations in the province. Senior Supt. Ronald Oliver-Lee, police provincial director, said guns, marijuana and shabu were confiscated from the suspects who are now facing unbailable drug charges in court. A total of 10 search warrants issued by various courts were implemented resulting in the arrest of 13 drug pushers, including the councilman, while 11 buy-busts netted 12 pushers including a security guard and a 15-year-old girl. The suspects were arrested in the towns of Sual, Bani, Aguilar, Bugallon, Bolinao, Bautista, San Quintin and Mangaldan, while three each were arrested in Lingayen and San Carlos City, and five were nabbed in Binmaley town and two in Dagupan City. The operations also netted an Uzi, a caliber 38 revolver, a caliber 45 pistol and various drug paraphernalia.
