Villar Group to spend P1.2B for 7 more AllHome stores

ALLHOME, the one-stop home improvement store of business tycoon and former Sen.
Manuel Villar Jr., is looking to spend P1.2 billion to open seven more AllHome outlets.

In a media briefing at the grand opening of AllHome Antipolo on Friday, Villar told reporters that the group plans to spend around P1.1 to P1.2 billion for seven AllHome stores in the pipeline.

The plan is in line with its target to have 20 stores by the end of the year.

“This year hindi kaya 20 [stores], to be honest. Siguro naman not end of next year, by middle of next year. Nagkaroon kami ng mga konting mga delay eh. Marami kaming tatapusin mga malll, mga AllHome. Pero yung 20 given na yun, na we can finish 20. Right now we have 13,” Villar said.

[This year the 20 cannot be done, to be honest. Hopefully not end of next year, by middle of next year perhaps. We just had some delays. There are many malls we need to finish, AllHome stores. But the 20, that is given already that we can finish 20].

Villar noted that around P150 million will be spent for putting up one future AllHome branch, which is less than the average P200 million per store the company has spent for its previous branches.

“I think less than P200 million na yun kasi mas marami na kaming nakukuhang suppliers. Baka mga P150 million [I think it would be less than P200 million already because we are now able to get many suppliers. Perhaps around P150 million],” Villar explained.

Of the seven AllHome stores in the pipeline, Viilar said the first four will be located in Mega Manila.

“Mega Manila siguro. Medyo labas pero malapit-lapit. Hindi pa siya Visayas, Mindanao [Mega Manila most likely. Somewhat outside but still near. It is not yet Visayas, Mindanao],” Villar said.

He added that they will also open a branch in Iloilo City.

Late last year, Villar mentioned areas such as Cagayan de Oro, Bulacan and Batangas as possible locations for future AllHome outlets.

Villar said they also plan to expand several of their existing branches, particularly their Daang Hari branch in Bacoor, Cavite.

“We might also be expanding further yung Daang Hari. Kasi although malaki na siya—12,000 sqm, we will probably add another 5,000 sqm para 18,000 na siya. We really want to come up with the biggest talaga, the flagship. Daang Hari siguro mag-flaflagship kami dyan,” Villar said

[We might also be expanding Daang Hari outlet further. Because it is already big—12,000 sqm, we will probably add another 5,000 sqm to make it 18,000 sqm. We really want to come up with the biggest outlet, the flagship. Perhaps with Daang Hari we will have a flagship there.]

The former senator added the group has already expanded some of its smaller stores.

“Halos na expand na namin yung mga maliliit naming stores [We have almost expanded all our smaller stores]. Taguig, we doubled from 7,000 sqm to 14,000 sqm; San Jose del Monte, ngayon nasa 12,000 na siya [it is now 12,000]from about 6,000 sqm, dinoble na rin natin [we have also doubled its size]. Yung sa Cebu, maliit lang yun eh pero dinoble na namin [The one in Cebu, it is small but we have also doubled it]. We are adding around another 2,500 sqm,” Villar said.

On Friday, the Villar Group opened its 13th AllHome Store in Vista Mall Antipolo in Antipolo City. The latest branch targets to cater to residents of the Antipolo area also those living in neighboring towns such as Cainta, Angono, Taytay and Tanay.
