Sen. Cynthia Villar on Thursday joined the celebration of the Provincial Women’s Day in Balanga City. “When we empower women, we empower families and generations of people. In fact, by empowering women, society is doing itself a favour,” Villar said. She said it was heart-warming that in the Senate there are many women lawmakers including Miriam Santiago, Pia Cayetano, Loren legarda, Nancy Binay, Grace Poe and herself. Villar said she has asked the Department of Agriculture to provide women’s groups with composting facilities for turning waste into fertilizers and the Philippines Coconut Authority to supply machines for the production of coco nets from coconut husks.
