FORMER unified World Boxing Organization and World Boxing Association flyweight champion Brian “The Hawaiian Punch” Viloria is willing to face Mexican Juan Francisco Estrada in a rematch on February 22, in Macau next year.
Viloria, 33, said he would get back to training on Monday at the Wild Card gym Freddie Roach under assistant trainer Marvin Somodio.
“I’ve been keeping himself busy, working out on my own for a month, running every day. I’m feeling good and well rested and ready to go again,” Viloria, who holds 32 wins and four losses with 19 knockouts, told boxing website philboxing.com.
Viloria lost to Estrada via split decision after running out of gas in the last seven rounds.
Viloria’s compatriot Milan Melindo challenged Estrada (23-2 card with 18 knockouts) in July but failed but lost through unanimous decision.
“I will stay with my game-plan and not try to please too many people,” added Viloria. “There is no need to slug it out. I’ve got to fight smart.”
