• Vince Robles is alive and well!

    3

IN my column yesterday, I killed MABINI’s Vince Robles, who called me, to say that my report on his demise was grossly exaggerated. A brother, not he, had passed on. When told of the departure last Tuesday, I remarked, “Kaya pala wala na ang Lucban longanisa ration ko.” No correction I heard. Vince, when he called, did not sound like he had just bolted upright in some morgue or graveyard. Instead, he sounded like he was not pleased that I had implied that he was Mabuting Damo.

Am very sorry, Vince, for suggesting that nagbagong-buhay ka na. Vince was propositioned by a QC fiscal in the 1980s. He had the scalawag entrapped by the authorities and he had to keep changing addresses because of the harassment. For your penance, Vince, resume the longanisa ration, despite Bismarck’s view that two things people should not see being made, “laws and sausages.”

This was an honest mistake on the part of Senator Rene Saguisag.

Even a lawyer of his standing errs now and then. He is only a human being after all.

    3. Well, even the Inquirer has had several instances of “koryente” so what else is new. It just means the guy will live long.
