BAYOMBONG, Nueva Vizcaya: Some P187 million has been allotted for 15 local government units in this province under a new budgeting scheme by the national government.
Under the Bottoms-Up Budgeting (BUB) program, local government units (LGU) given the Seal of Good Financial Housekeeping (SGH) can get their funding assistance from the national government faster, resulting in quicker implementation of projects for their constituents.
Before an SGH is issued, local governments must comply first with as set of requirements. “We are encouraging our [local government units]to fast track their submission of the needed requirements for their SGH so that they can get their fund incentive,” Eng. Mario Iringan, Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) region 2, director said.
Iringan said the amount that would be given to the 15 local government units in the province will be at P12.5 million each is they pass the criteria for their SGH.
He explained that the earlier they submit the requirements, the earlier they receive their funding assistance.
“For those who have already passed the DILG’s good financial housekeeping the funds have already its Special Allotment Release Order (SARO) and are now ready for release,” he said.
