Vizcaya gives P3M seeds, inputs to corn farmers


BAYOMBONG, Nueva Vizcaya: In an effort to boost corn production, the provincial government here is distributing P3 million worth of corn seeds and fertilizers to farmers producing below four metric tons per hectare, according to the Office of the Provincial Agriculturist (OPA). Alexander Domingo, OPA chief, said that among the 15 municipalities of the province, at least nine were identified as corn producing areas that will receive the corn seeds and fertilizers. “The province has received P3 million prize being one of the Quality Corn Achievers Awardees which will be used to purchase quality corn seeds and fertilizers to be distributed to corn farmers,” Domingo said.
