Vizcaya power co-op collects additional charges

BAYOMBONG, Nueva Vizcaya: The Nueva Vizcaya Electric Cooperative (Nuvelco) will be increasing its power rate charges this after the Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC) imposed an increase in its collection charges. Narciso Salunat, Nuvelco general manager, said the additional rate, which is P0.0406 per kilowatt hour (KWh), will be included in January 2015 billing. Despite the increase, Salunat said the Nuvelco will not earn anything from it as it only serves as a collection agent for the National Transmission Corporation (Transco). According to the ERC order, the provisional authority given to Transco will allow it to perform its duties as a fund administrator and pay the Renewable Energy (RE) developers its Feed-In Tariff (FIT) Rates on time.
