BAYOMBONG, Nueva Vizcaya: In support of the ongoing investigation on the Mamasapano encounter, which resulted to the killing of 44 Philippine National Police Special Action Force (PNP-SAF) troopers, their counterparts and former members here shoved their heads and went bald. Police Chief Insp. Wilfredo Velayo, a member of the SAF 2003 Batch, said the SAF members in the province called their action “Bald for Truth” to stress the point of seeking the truth on the incident that saw the killing of their 44 comrades. Velayo said that other police units in the province and in Region 2 is also supporting the “Bald for Truth” move, with others also wearing black t-shirts. In Villaverde town, SAF members in full force carried the casket of one of their fallen comrade PO2 Joel Bumidang Dulnuan on his way to a cemetery in Barangay Ocapon. SAF members gave honor to Dulnuan “for laying his life unselfishly for peace” while provincial officials gave commendation and recognition for his show of bravery and honor as a police officer worthy of emulation.
