Vizcaya stunner wins Miss World PH crown

HILLARIE Danielle Parungao, the 5’8 stunner from Nueva Vizcaya, now holds the Miss World Philippines 2015 crown, a year after representing Philippines in Miss Asia Pacific World 2014 where she finished third runner-up.

Fresh from her international pageant foray in South Korea, Parungao bested 25 other candidates with her impressive wit and undeniable glamour during Miss World Philippines pageant night on Sunday night at The Theater at Solaire Resorts and Casino.

Parungao was off to a fiery start. Even before the finals night, she was an early favorite and considered as a front-runner, thanks to her international pageant experience and her modeling background.

Come Sunday, Parungao was one of the most decorated candidates, having won awards such as Best in Swimsuit, Miss Talent, Best in Evening Gown, Best in Fashion Runway, and Best in Sports Challenge, as well as sponsored-special awards such as Miss Zen Institute, Miss Technomarine, Miss Solaire, Miss Figlia and Miss Phoenix.

But what sealed her fate was the most-awaited question and answer portion. Cris Albert, Fila president and CEO, asked, “What is your life’s philosophy and why?”

To that, Parungao gracefully answered, “My life philosophy always relies into compassion because I believe compassion can open doors into many challenges in life that we can resolve, that we can progress as a society. And I also believe that in compassion we get to understand other people. And in understanding other people, we can become a better society.”

Completing the famous princess roster are Marita Cassandra Naidas (1st Princess), Mia Allyson Howell (2nd Princess), Maria Vanessa Wright (3rd Princess), and Emma Mary Tiglao (4th Princess)

Parungao will represent the country in Miss World 2015 to be held in Sanya, China on December 19.
