Vizcaya’s flood control projects completed


BAMBANG, Nueva Vizcaya: To mitigate severe flooding in the low-lying areas, the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) completed the P34.65 million flood control project along Cupas River in Barangay San Leonardo here. Vizcaya’s district engineer Rodolfo Torralba Jr., said the project has proven its efficiency during the recent continuous rains caused by southwest monsoon. The rainy season which caused the swelling of Cupas River, a major tributary of the Magat River, it is expected to save millions of agricultural crops, major roads, houses and infrastructures and thousands of residents along the river. The project was made up of rubble concrete revetment with series of training dike and embankment on the river bank to plug water inflow.
