• ‘The Voice’ changes lives

The Voice of the Philippines is not just about entertainment. It’s about changing lives.

The Voice Kids champion Lyca Gairanod and her family will be watching the show’s premiere tonight in their new home in General Trias, Cavite, which was one of the biggest prizes she received for winning the ABS-CBN contest.

Gairanod’s family, who used to live in a fishing village in Tanza, welcomed the showbiz press inside their home at Camella Tierra Nevada, when they made the big move on October 15. Camella Tierra Nevada is 100-hectare estate development with parks and sports facilities.

After the house blessing in the morning, Camella officially turned over the house to Gairanod’s mother, who was visibly emotional throughout the affair. In Tanza, she used to scavenge junk for a living, with the help of Lyca and her siblings. Gairanod’s father worked as a fisherman to be able to send his brood to school.

Besides the lot and two-storey house, nine-year-old Gairanod also won P2 million and a recording contract with MCA Universal. She is excited to see whose life will change for the better in this new season of The Voice.
