Officials of Volkswagen Philippines on Thursday announced that none of the VW vehicles sold in the country are affected by the software issue affecting diesel engines in the US that was uncovered a fortnight ago.
The announcement was made by VW Philippines Chief Operating Adviser Klaus Schadewald during an interview with several motoring journalists.
An offical statement released by VW Philippines also stated, “We at Volkswagen Philippines sincerely apologize to all our customers for the undue stress and inconvenience this issue may have caused.“
“All vehicles distributed and sold by Volkswagen Philippines comply with Philippine emissions regulations and standards,“ the statement added. “Volkswagen Philippines highly appreciates the continued trust and confidence provided by the Filipino consumers to the Volkswagen brand.“
