The Volvo’s S60 R-Design is the Scandinavian car company’s latest offering for car connoisseurs who seek an even more exhilarating and dynamic drive. More than just its head-turning looks, this S60 R-Design has been created to answer the need for a sportier and more holistic driving experience. Designed with a true sports car feel and featuring a specially developed chassis to ensure that the driving experience matches the car’s appearance, the all-new S60 is Volvo’s sportiest model yet.

Stylish Design
The S60 R-design offers gorgeously sculpted alloy wheels and unique door mirror covers in silver metallic. It has an imposing front with a grille in glossy piano black finish. The sporty stance is further enhanced with color-matched body components, details in matte special finish and a hexagonal pattern that is repeated in both front and rear. At the back, a motor sports-style diffuser enhances the car’s dynamic presence, while the R-design chrome dual exhaust pipes add the perfect finishing touch to the S60s exterior.

Deep character
The R-Design story continues inside the well-appointed interiors starting with the supportive sport seats in Nubuck leather. The seat cushion shapes itself to the occupant’s body but is nonetheless firm, thanks to a combination of two layers each with a different degree of hardness. As a result, drivers of different sizes all enjoy the same excellent side support. The special leather/textile upholstery is available in a version trimmed in off-black and ceramic light, or in an all-black variant, both with contrasting stitching. The interior also features an exclusive steering wheel, gear selector, sports pedals and floor-mats. Adding to the stirring R-Design experience are the unique blue R-Design digital driver display, interior LED lighting and a seven-inch center display with smartphone connectivity.

However, R-Design is so much more than a cosmetic exercise. As with all the best Scandinavian designs, form follows function. With an efficient four-cylinder direct injection 2.0-liter turbocharged diesel engine and eight-speed Geartronic transmission, the R-Design chassis has also been lowered and stiffened for better cornering translating to a more thrilling drive.

Being a Volvo, it naturally carries the three key innovations that set it apart from its competitors. Drive-E, Volvo’s all-embracing approach to an uncompromised driving experience means getting superb drivability without sacrificing power. This includes highly efficient 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbocharged diesel engine mated to a low-friction, low-weight Geartronic eight-speed automatic gearbox giving optimum performance at any engine speed. These Drive-E power trains also have additional technologies designed to reduce fuel consumption and emissions.

Sensus is Volvo’s way of making interaction with the car more intuitive. It is an all-encompassing approach that connects the occupants of the car with the world. A high-end audio experience is also part of Sensus that has an incredibly realistic stage sound that provides unparalleled aural experience and connects easily with external media players.

Leader in safety
With safety as an intrinsic part of the Volvo DNA, Volvo has not only pioneered some of the world’s most important innovations – such as the three-point safety belt – but continues to strive harder to achieve the Volvo 2020 vision of designing cars that should not crash. IntelliSafe is that umbrella under which smart, intuitive technologies are housed. These technologies, such as the Active High Beam, City Safety and Collision Warning with Full Auto Brake, are just some of the efforts that support daily driving and help protect people not only inside the car but around it as well.

All these and more can be found in the Volvo S60 R-Design with other available options that give you the chance to put your personal stamp on the car. Volvo Philippines is offering special ownership packages for the Volvo S60 R-Design this August.
