Some of the APO members included in the Wall of Remembrance are Magtanggol Roque, Art Taca, Nicky Moreal, and Haydee Yorac.

[It is fitting to give honor to the prominent people who came before us through this Bantayog ng Apo],” Binay said.

In his speech, Binay said fighting poverty and working toward inclusive growth should be the top priorities of both the government and its citizens.

Like what I said in commemorating the EDSA People Power uprising, progress cannot be achieved in a society where there are people who are suffering. It is our obligation—both government and the citizens—to ensure that economic growth will benefit most of our countrymen],” Binay said.

He also underscored the need to always remind the youth about the lessons of martial law, and that the freedom they enjoy is the result of an intense fight against the dictatorship.

While we honor the heroes of the EDSA uprising, it is our duty to ensure that the ideals from People Power Revolution are imparted to our children, and the next generation of Filipinos],” he said.

The government should be steadfast in defending the rights of the people, while the people must fulfill their duties for a more noble cause—which is to support equality and progress],” Binay added.
