130 Million Steps to Fight Breast Cancer’

Direct selling company Avon Philippines amplifies its commitment to the fight against breast cancer by challenging the public join its “130 Million Steps to Fight Breast Cancer.”

This October, anyone, anytime, anywhere can pledge their steps to the cause by using the free Avon 130 Million Steps Pedometer App.

The mobile application is available for free on the Google Play Store and App Store. Just sign up, set your step goal for the day, and start walking. Carry your phone close to your body—in a pocket, armband, or shoulder bag—and your steps will be tracked, even without an Internet connection.

When connected to the Internet, on the other hand, your steps are automatically synced to the grand total, and you can track your total contribution to the campaign.

By sharing daily step achievements on Facebook and inviting friends to join the #130MillionSteps challenge, everyone can help create more awareness for the cause.

At the forefront of this unique way to help fight breast cancer are Avon’s Kiss Goodbye to Breast Cancer 2016 ambassadors, celebrities Jennylyn Mercado and Rocco Nacino.

“One in every 13 Filipinas will develop breast cancer in her lifetime,” Mercado warned. “This statistic should encourage us to step up, talk about the disease, and promote breast self-exams. Early detection is still the best protection.”

“Men and women are in this fight together,” Nacino added. “And the more funds and awareness we raise, the more patients and survivors we can help through the Avon-Philippine General Hospital (PHH) Breast Care Center. Purchasing the Avon T-shirt and Avon Naturals Lotions are other great ways to contribute to the cause.”

Mercado and Nacino will also take part in the “Grand Downloading Day Kick Off” today, beginning 6:30 a.m. at Liwasang Ullalim of the CCP Complex.
