Expect cloudy skies with light rains over parts of the Bicol region and Samar provinces in the next 24 hours due to the low pressure area (LPA) that resulted from the weakening of tropical depression “Betty,” according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) on Thursday.
PAGASA weather forecaster Jun Galang said that as of 4 p.m. Thursday, the LPA was spotted some 780 kilometers east of Baler, Aurora (15.5˚N, 128.9˚E).
Galang said the LPA has slim chance to re-intensify into a tropical depression.
The presence of the LPA will bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains over the Bicol region and Samar provinces, Galang said.
He added that the rest of the country, including Metro Manila, will be experiencing partly cloudy to at times cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms.
