Filipino Grandmaster Wesley So will resume his campaign when he faces GM Boris Gelfand of Israel in the fifth round today in the 76th Tata Steel Tournament Masters in Rijksmuseum, Amsterdam.

So is in the No. 2 position along with GM Anish Giri of the Netherlands, GM Pentala Harikrishna of India and GM Sergey Karjakin of Russia. They have 2.5 points each.

The 20-year-old Filipino wizard opted to split the point with Giri after 57 moves of Queens Pawn Game while Gelfand drew with GM Arkadij Naiditsch of Germany after 30 moves of King’s Indian Averbakh.

After four rounds, the tournament employed another one-day break.

The other fifth-round games are Harikrishna and Giri, Caruana and GM Loek Van Wely of the Netherlands, GM Richard Rapport of Hungrary and GM Leinier Dominguez of Cuba, GM Hikaru Nakamura of US and Karjakin, and Naiditsch and Aronian.
