Filipino Grandmaster (GM) Wesley So resumes his bid against GM Anish Giri of The Netherlands in the fourth round of the 76th Tata Steel Tournament Masters this time in Rijksmuseum, Amsterdam.
After three rounds, So is in a six-way tie on top with two points on one win and two draws in Category A. The round-robin, 12-player tournament employed a one-day break.
Joining So in the lead are top seed GM Levon Aronian of Armenia, GM Pentala Harikrishna of India, GM Fabiano Caruana of Italy, GM Hikaru Nakamura of US and GM Anish Giri of the Netherlands.
So is coming off a draw with GM Arkadij Naiditsch of Germany while Giri also split the point with GM Loek Van Wely of Netherlands in their respective third-round matches.
Also seeing action in the fourth round are Naiditsch and GM Boris Gelfand of Israel,
Aronian and Nakamura, GM Richard Rapport of Hungrary and GM Sergey Karjakin of Russia, Caruana and GM Leinier Dominguez of Cuba, and Harikrishna and GM Loek Van Wely of the Netherlands.
