THE Wushu Federation of the Philippines (WFP) will host for the first time the Asian Junior Wushu Championships slated on August 8 to 12 at the Makati Coliseum.

WFP Secretary General Julian Camacho said that the Philippines is aiming to win at least seven gold medals in the first major wushu meet to be held in the country since the 1996 Asian Wushu Champion-ships, “The target is achievable,” said Camacho, adding that the tournament will be participated in by 38 countries. Wushu artists John Keithley Chan, Engelbert Addo-ngan, Kariza Kris Chan, Natasha Enriquez and Thornton Queney Luo Sayan are expected to spear-head the Philippines’ campaign in the meet.
