What’s in Yaya Dub’s card for ‘Richard?’

Final Yaya Dub LetterNo one seems to have a clue what Yaya Dub—currently the country’s most popular dalaga—wrote her suitor Alden Richards the day their love team broke records with 22 million tweets on Saturday.

As of the present, what Filipinos know is that Yaya Dub, or Maine Mendoza, wrote the real name “Richard Faulkerson Jr.” instead of “Alden Richards” on the envelope of a card she gave him.

This was teased by Lola Tidora when Alden visited Lola Nidora’s “mansyon” to court Yaya Dub on the September 26 episode of Kalyeserye, a segment of Eat Bulaga.

Hours after the show, Alden himself confirmed this when he posted in Instagram a photo of the handwritten cover of Yaya Dub’s letter with the caption: “Upon reading this letter, mas nakilala kita. You’re a beautiful person inside and out Meng. Maraming salamat sa message mo. TULOY ANG FOREVER [Upon reading this letter, I’ve gotten to know you more. You’re a beautiful person inside and out Meng. Thank you very much for your message. Forever continues]!!!”

Over 200,000 have already liked the said Instagram photo, which was followed by another post, AlDub’s first photo together. Yaya Dub also posted the same picture with the caption, “So . . . this happened. Ang tagal nating hinintay to [We’ve waited for this for so long]!”

Come Sunday, fans continued to clamor for what Yaya Dub actually wrote in her letter while Alden sang and cried at the noontime show’s opening.

To their disappointment, however, Alden on Eat Bulaga’s Monday episode told that the content of the letter will remain for his “eyes only” when pressed to talk about it by co-host Sam YG.

He added that he was only following what Yaya Dub herself requested in the letter, which was to keep it a secret. EUDEN VALDEZ
