White, Luistro shine in PSL National Series

British School of Manila’s Heather White and Hope Christian School-Legazpi’s Trump Christian Luistro bagged three gold medals each to lead the opening day winners in the 88th Philippine Swimming League (PSL) National Series – Inter-School/Inter-Club Motivational Yearender Swimming Meet being held at the Diliman College swimming pool in Quezon City.

White dominated the girls’ 8 years 100m Individual Medley with a time of 1:34.00 then cruised to another golden finish in the 25m butterfly (18.21) and 25m backstroke (20.40) in the tournament supported by The Manila Times.

On the other hand, Luistro made his presence felt by bagging gold medals in the boys’ 7 years 100m IM (1:47.51), 25m butterfly (20.96) and 25m backstroke (23.88).

“These are the future members of our elite class. A lot of swimmers have started in motivational level just like Jasmine Mojdeh and Marc Bryan Dula. With proper training and exposure, they are now winning gold medals in international level,” said PSL President Susan Papa.

Also shining in their respective events were Paula Carmela Cusing, Recz Edward Agustin, Angelica Mae Medrano, Genevive Zamora and Felice Alexis Reyes.

Cusing topped the girls’ 12 100m IM, 50m butterfly and 50m backstroke; Agustin ruled the boys’ 14 100m IM, 50m butterfly and 50m backstroke; Medrano reigned supreme in the girls’ 15 100m IM, 50m butterfly and 50m backstroke; Zamora got golds in the girls’ 15-over 100m IM, 50m butterfly and 50m backstroke; and Reyes won in the girls’ girls’ 13 100m IM, 50m butterfly and 50m backstroke.

The other gold medallists were Jamcela Del Valle, Krizelle Basilio, John Pasecion, Patrick Vidal, Andrew Lacorte, Tiffany Sanchez, Euleah Balili, Maria Fe Ebonite, Ivan Ferrer, Araz Baldazo, Prince Angeles, Edmundo Tolentino Jr., Karylle Ambata, Sofia Tumangday, Erin Pamiloza, Yvonne Edralin and Jayani Balutan.

Also winning golds were Meynard Bautista, Arby Dela Cruz, Zachie Gallegos, Ajay Gabriel, Jericho Ramacho, Renaldo Salonga Jr., Bryan Leonida, Estelle Mendez, Nicole Espinosa, Quantreulle Wangkay, Jameela Del Valle, Calyn Batac, Rafael Escalona, Kyle Gruta, Inigo Gigantone and Neal Dable.

PSL is a national sports swimming association for Universities and Colleges accredited by the Federation of School Sports Association of the Philippines (Fessap), internationally affiliated member of Federation of International Sports University (FISU).
