• WHO WILL TEACH VOCATIONAL IN PRIVATE SCHOOLS?

    0

THE Federation Associations of Private Schools and Administrators (Fapsa) on Tuesday said the implementation of Kindergarten to Grade 12 (K-to-12) program will pose problem to private schools in the hiring of new teachers that will teach technical vocational education for senior high school (Grade 11 and 12) students. Citing the K-to-12’s implementing rules and regulations (IRR) under section 13 of Rule III of the Private Educational Institutions, Fapsa President Eleazardo Kasilag said the hiring of other teachers will pose conflict as to which department shall decide the needed training for the technical vocational students. “Is it the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (Tesda) which specializes on technical vocational education or the Department of Education (DepEd) which shall require the appropriate in-service training? Shall Fapsa get teachers with Fapsa accreditation or one with DepEd approval?” Kasilag asked.
