Televiewers across the nation continue to be entertained by the ongoing celebrity look-alike competition on ABS-CBN’s noontime show It’s Showtime, which began on August 26.
Amusingly dubbed “Kalokalike Level Up Face 2,” the contest has 72 look-alikes of local and international celebrities in their best, wildest, and allegedly best impersonation of stars, which usually end up in comedic sketches. At the press presentation, look-alikes of President Benigno Aquino 3rd, Showtimes’ hosts Anne Curtis and Vhong Navarro, TV Patrol’s Noli de Castro, Fil-American recording star Apl.de.Ap and Mr. Bean were early favorites.
Each day, a group of Kalokalikes will face off to get a slot in the much-awaited grand finals on September 28 and will have the chance to be crowned as the “Ultimate Kalokalike” for a grand prize of P300,000.
The first runner-up and second runner-up will bring home P200,000 and P100,000, respectively, while two additional runners-up will also be given cash prizes. Other stand-out contestants will also be given special awards.
The look-alike contest of It’s Showtime became so popular among viewers and netizens that “Kalokalike Face 2” was launched immediately after its first run. The first winner back in May was Christopher De Leon look-alike.
It’s Showtime airs weekdays at 12:30 p.m. and on Saturdays at 12 noon on ABS-CBN. For updates, follow @ItsShowtimena on Twitter or log on to www.facebook.com/itsShowtimena.
