A 68-year-old widow from Makati City (Metro Manila) has been added to the roster of the country’s instant millionaires.
The widow, a canteen helper with four children, bagged the P68.7-million jackpot prize in the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office’s (PCSO) Mega Lotto 6/45 draw on November 7.
According to the PCSO, the widow, who only bet P40, was the lone jackpot prize winner.
She got the winning combination from birth dates of her children and has been betting in lotto for five years.
The widow said she plans to invest her prize in putting up her own restaurant, share it with her children and save for future needs.
Lawyer Jose Ferdinand Rojas 2nd, PCSO acting chairman and general manager, congratulated the winner as he handed the check to her at the National Lottery main office in Mandaluyong City (Metro Manila) on Wednesday.
