NATIONAL College of Business and Arts (NCBA) stopped pacesetting Patts College of Aeronautics, 95-54, to gain a piece of the lead in the 7th Universities and Colleges of Luzon Athletic Association men’s basketball at the San Andres Gym in Manila.
Frontliners John Limpin posted his second high scoring game of 22 points while Christian John Catura added 19 and Damian Lasco chipped in 12 for the Wildcats of coach Jester del Rosario.
Mario Junio and Jeffrey Disquitado contributed 10 points apiece.
“After our slow start in the early goings of the elimination, Our boys regained their winning form. Our victory against powerhouse Patts sent a strong message that our mission in this season is not impossible to achieve,” said NCBA athletic director Jun Quinio.
Wildcats tied Patts and Philippine College of Criminology Golden Panthers on top of the standings with 5-1 each followed by St. Francis of Assisi (4-1), Colegio de San Lorenzo (4-2), St. Dominic College of Asia (3-3), PNTC (1-5), Aims (1-5) and De Ocampo Memorial College (0-5).
In the juniors division, defending champion PCCr stayed on top with a clean 4-0 followed by Rochepol Academy of Cavite (3-2), St. Francis (2-2) and NCBA (0-4).
