It’s been almost two years since controversial game show host Willie Revillame ended Wowowillie on TV5, and after much speculation on his next move inked an airtime agreement on March 20 between his WBR Entertainment Productions Inc. and GMA Network. For the fifth re-titling of his hit game show on ABS-CBN, which ran from 2005 to 2010 (Wowowee became Willing Willie, Wil Time Big Time and Wowowillie for TV5), this resurrection has been titled WowoWin and will air on GMA 7 every Sunday beginning April 26.
“GMA Network will be a part of the long awaited return of Willie Revillame on television,” said GMA Network Chairman and CEO Atty. Felipe Gozon.
“We are very grateful and glad to have our program shown in GMA Network, the No. 1 TV station in the country. We will see to it that we deserve the trust reposed on us by GMA Network,” responded Willie, who serves as chairman of his company. “At dito naman talaga ako nagsimula [so]I’m back where I truly belong.”
Willie was part of Randy Santiago’s Hawi Boys in GMA Network’s noontime show Lunch Date in the late ‘80s, and significantly, the singer-turned-director has also been chosen by the host to helm the program.
