The Taipei Economic and Cultural Office (Teco) in the Philippines hosted a successful prize presentation ceremony for the “Together We Can: Watch a Film and Win a Prize Contest,” which was held on January 22 at the Teco offices.
A total of 30 lucky Filipino winners from all over the country happily received prizes for their entries, ranging from giant mountain bicycles, Acer Laptops, LED 42-inch TVs, to ASUS FonePad cell phones—brands, which are all proudly from Taiwan, most of which are globally recognized.
In his remarks during the awarding ceremony, Dr. Gary Song-Huann Lin, representative of Taiwan to the Philippines, expressed his thanks to the winners for supporting the contest, which was launched in December 2014.
“The Philippines is undeniably an important partner of Taiwan as Taiwan and the Philippines are not only close neighbors, but also important trading partners and sources of investments and tourism,” he said.
It is the ambassador’s fervent hope that by working together in partnership, both countries will continue, “to make progress and enjoy everlasting prosperity, peace and blessings.”
In response, Emily Mingoy, a representative from the winners said, “The contest’s objective in building teamwork despite the diversity of people is commendable.” Mingoy works as the supervisor of the Philippine Academy of Sakya.
