Woodland gets clearance to play for Azkals

Azkal Luke Woodland has been given clearance to play for the national team after issues about his nationality were resolved. Woodland, 19, a young midfielder who represented England in the youth level until 2012, was barred to play for the Philippines when the country battled Bahrain last week in Bulacan. The Azkals won 2-1. Meanwhile, in an announcement, the Philippine Football Federation declared that they have received the decision from the FIFA Players Status Committee on June 15 stating that Woodland has been allowed to change his sporting nationality making him available to represent the nation in the remaining games of the World Cup qualifiers.
