World bank reviews mission in Visayas


ILOILO CITY: A second World Bank (WB) review mission on the Philippine Rural Development Project (PRDP) is up in five areas in Western Visayas as the $500 million loan is set to fund all these projects with a counterpart from local government units. The review mission is headed by World Bank’s Frauke Jungbluth on projects in Passi City and the municipality of Leon, in Iloilo; Libacao town in Aklan; and Cadiz City and Toboso town in Negros Occ. In Passi City, the project consists of 28-km. concrete farm-to-market (FTM) roads spanning 10 barangays for completion in 2017. In Leon, the project consists of the construction and concreting of a 10.3-km FTM road passing four barangays. The Visayas Cluster projects are in areas affected by Typhoon Yolanda and the Bohol earthquake.
