LONDON: Formula One champion Lewis Hamilton will battle with the likes of European Ryder Cup star Rory McIlroy and Real Madrid's Gareth Bale for the BBC's prestigious 2014 Sports Personality of the Year award.
Hamilton secured his second F1 world title in Abu Dhabi at the weekend and the British driver is expected to be a leading contender for the prize.
