Pinoy wrestling fans will be in for a treat when the World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) returns to the Philippines with WWE Live Manila on September 9 at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.

After seven years, the WWE is coming back to the country with exciting matches bannered by the duel between WWE champion Big Show and John Cena.

“This year, we are bringing a hell of a card in Manila. This is going to be an amazing card. A lot of you guys notice or find out that John Cena has been added to the card, which is huge,” said Show in a news conference on Tuesday at Conrad Hotel in Pasay City.

Show recalled the explosive response of Filipino fans during his last Philippine visit, “I do remember thousands of people outside the hotel. It was an amazing experience the last time I came because of the overwhelming support and energy of the fans toward the WWE. And how excited they were to see the guys,” he added.

Among the most notable of Show’s fights is when he went toe-to-toe with world champion boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr., in WrestleMania 24.

Besides the Show vs Cena duel, the other featured matches include WWE world heavyweight champion Roman Reigns taking on Seth Rollins, Finn Balor fighting Chris Jericho, Cesaro facing Sheamus, and WWE Tag Team champions The New Day taking on Gallows and Anderson.

In the WWE women’s championship match, Charlotte will test her mettle against Sasha Banks while Sani Zayn, Kevin Owens, Golden Truth, The Shining Stars, Neville, Bo Dallas and Curtis Axel are also set to display their pro wrestling prowess.

“WWE is excited to return to the Philippines, giving WWE’s passionate fans the chance to see their favorite superstars in an energetic, larger than life event, for the first time in seven years,” said WWE International President Gerrit Meier.

“This one-night only show is a must attend event for families to experience pure adrenaline rush,” added Dainty Group founder Paul Dainty.

WWE is an American publicly traded, privately controlled entertainment company that deals primarily with professional wrestling.
