Foreign Affairs Secretary Perfecto Yasay inaugurated on Tuesday the department’s sixth satellite office in Novaliches, Quezon City.
“This could bring us closer to the vision of President Duterte that there would be no long lines of people getting their passports,” Yasay said when he opened the satellite office at the third floor of the Robinson Mall.
“This shows that there is merit to the Private-Public Partnership,” he added, citing the processing of more than 7,000 passport applications on the soft opening of the office.
Arlene Magtibay, the mall’s Senior Vice President, said their Lingkod Pinoy Center, which hosts all government agencies that cater to the needs of Filipinos, was hatched in 2011.
Rep. Alfred Vargas said the DFA satellite office in Novaliches will serve not only residents of his district but also nearby cities such as Valenzuela, San Jose Del Monte and Bulacan.
